Video: The origins of the Scots language – in Scots

The Angus McIntosh Centre for Historical Linguistics at the University of Edinburgh has published a short video Рin both Scots and English versions Рtracking what we know of the tongues, peoples and events that shaped the earliest linguistic history of Scots.

The video is the result of a collaboration between: AMC researchers; Hamish MacDonald, the Scots Scriever (who narrates the Scots version); Derrick McClure, University of Aberdeen (who translated the narrative into Scots); Alistair Hardie (who performed the accompanying music); and the University of Edinburgh Innovation Team (who created the animation).
